I created this cherry mojito recipe as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars using Walmart produce. As usual, all opinions are my own.

It’s a shame that it has taken me so long to share this recipe. Cherry mojitos have been my go-to drink this summer. Kind of like rum punch was my drink for winter. Is anyone else noticing a rum theme here?
It has been kind of hard getting back in the swing of things since last week. I’ve been spending a lot of time eating brownies, looking at things that inspire me, and preparing my home (and heart) for our first year of actual homeschool. This recipe made it easier to get back into work because nothing says put your business pants on like a good cocktail.

Luckily it’s peak cherry season in the Walmart produce section! That means super bright, sweet, juicy cherries making the prettiest cocktail you’ve ever seen. It kind of looks like Christmas but tastes like summer. I don’t understand it but I’m all on board.

Pro tip time: The recipe tells you to make these in a cocktail shaker so you can strain out most of the chunks leftover from muddling. If you don’t own a cocktail shaker you can just muddle in a sturdy glass and then add the remaining liquid on top or strain the muddled fruit juice into another glass before adding the remaining liquid.

If you don’t have a muddler, it’s a shame, but you can improvise. My favorite is the handle end of an ice cream scoop, but you could also use a large wooden spoon.

I chose not to muddle the lime with the cherries and mint because I just wanted it to brighten up the overall flavor rather than be a dominant factor. A lot of people also use sugar instead of honey and lemon lime soda instead of club soda, but I love how this recipe uses whole foods and is free of white sugar!
You can feel confident heading to Walmart and grabbing a bag of cherries that comes with a 100% money back guarantee. What’s your favorite way to use the season’s best cherries?
